Brunswick Testimonial

Since Brunswick Corporation is comprised of many different business units (Mercury Marine Group, Brunswick Boat Group, Life Fitness Division and Brunswick Bowling & Billiards) it’s essential that we have systems and processes in place to manage the wealth of inventory across all of our business segments and geographies to support our $4.7B dollar enterprise. 

Prior to using MMI’s OneView software application, managing our inventory was a complex and time consuming affair.  The extra steps that were required to make a simple add or removal, or to update the locations of equipment was burdensome and often mishandled.  However, such management of our equipment is entirely necessary, so those tasks were left to many members of the IT department staff taking up a lot of their time.  Prior to using MMI’s Inventory Management Solution we had no way of properly and efficiently tracking inventory across locations and manufacturers which made IT budget allocation difficult.  We were unable to efficiently keep track of when items were coming off warranty, and there were instances where we realized a machine’s warranty expired after there was a need to call in for support on that machine.  This of course had a detrimental effect on business processes, and cost us more money in the long term.  With MMI, we now have the capability to keep all of our equipment under one managed contract, and we have excellent views into the status of our equipment.  With the pro-active notification feature, we no longer need to worry that a machine that is integral to our processes will go down without being under a maintenance contract.   We have a clear view of our maintenance costs across all divisions at any point in time making budgets much easier to manage.  

The quarterly inventory reconciliations that our MMI rep provides is also invaluable, giving us a detailed overview of our entire inventory – even on the pieces of equipment that are not currently under our managed contract.  Between this, and the customized reports, errors have been drastically reduced and we’ve been able to focus on more strategic projects.  

Lastly, the customer support team at MMI is always willing to help.  The customer service is second to none and the ability to work with one account representative makes the process even better.  We have the ability to ask questions and make changes without issue.  Our current rep Trish McLoughlin is outstanding and has helped us transition a lot of hardware from our other divisions into one contract.  She has helped us with hardware that wasn’t on maintenance and found hardware that was coming off warranty at other divisions we were not aware of.  Trish has been instrumental with helping our business to consolidate inventory and put processes in place so we can spend more time focusing on our business operations.  I am glad to have the MMI OneView tool here at Brunswick, and I would encourage companies with similar pains to look to MMI to help them experience some of the benefits that we have experienced here at Brunswick.
